1:30 PM EDT: SPC Rotation: From 96 Hours to Clinically Indicated

The evidence in short peripheral catheter (SPC) removal and rotation demonstrates there is no single protocol for site rotation to fit all patients. Assessments based on the setting, individual patient needs, and patient’s condition are an integral part of determining clinically indicated site rotation. This session will present the rationale of current SPC site rotation standards and INS’ recommendations for the frequency of assessment of the SPC site.

Learning Outcome: After the session, attendees will be able to describe best practices for SPC site monitoring and rotation.
