“My patient is an intravenous (IV) drug abuser or has a history of illegal IV drug use. What do I do when this patient requires infusion therapy?” Nurses encounter this issue in all patient care settings. This session will explore nurses’ attitudes toward addicted patients and discuss methods to provide compassionate, nonjudgmental care for this patient population.

Learning Outcome: After the session, attendees will be able to explore his or her attitudes related to caring for drug-addicted patients.
