9:00 AM EDT: VAD Challenges: Establishing Access in the Morbidly Obese

Establishing and maintaining vascular access in patients who are morbidly obese can be challenging. This can result in delay of care or interruption of therapy. This session will present methods and technologies for VAD insertion and will discuss professional attitudes toward morbidly obese patients.

Learning Outcome: After the session, attendees will be able to describe methods to improve vascular access device insertion in morbidly obese patients.
