Cheryl Peterson, MSN, RN, is the Vice President of the Nursing Programs Department at the American Nurses Association. In this role, she is responsible for guiding ANA’s Department of Nursing Practice and Work Environment, the Center for Ethics and Human Rights, and the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration Minority Fellowship Program. Since coming to ANA in 1990, Ms. Peterson has developed significant expertise in the application of policy and strategic advocacy efforts, in order to effectively address issues within the field of nursing. Through her work, Ms. Peterson advances the Association’s vision of a healthier world through the power of nursing
